The location of Yasins hideout in Pokhra was given away by a letter purportedly written by him to his wife in New Delhi. The envelope sent through post is also believed to have contained cash, officials claimed.

Yasin and Akhtar have been kept inside a CRPF safe-house located on the outskirts of Delhi and manned by nearly 2,000 security personnel. A special security plan has been devised and put in place to monitor the two. The National Investigation Agency also said they will get psychoanalysis tests conducted on the duo to understand their behavior and state of mind. It has been learnt that the two have been frequently asking for breaks during interrogation, and are allowed to offer prayers five times a day.
